Mengkun (Meggie) Chen joined Parker, Simon & Kokolis, LLC as an associate in 2021 and primarily handles real estate and creditor’s rights matters and litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Meggie served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Elizabeth S. Stong of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, and before that, a judicial extern for Judge Paul M. Baisier of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia. These experiences have provided Meggie deep knowledge and unparalleled insights in both the substantive and the procedural aspects of the matters. In addition, Meggie has been qualified to practice law in China since 1999 and has worked as General Counsel and senior executive with international corporations and financing institutions for their Asian hubs. Meggie’s corporate experiences included formation of private equity funds, private equity investment projects, mergers and acquisitions, public-private-partnerships, debt finance, and finance lease.
During her years of practice, Meggie has developed substantial corporate, financing, and contract law expertise, as well as solid transactional skills and an in-depth understanding of the business operations. Her hands-on work has made her result-oriented, with highly-developed skills in building relationships with clients and various stakeholders, meeting and exceeding their expectations.
Meggie Obtained her J.D. and LL.M from Emory University School of Law. She also has a Ph.D in Law from China University of Political Science and Law. She is native in Mandarin and proficient in English.
In her spare time, Meggie likes exercising Tai Chi, reading detective fictions, playing board games with family, and exploring novel ways to making food.
